Provide for their analogue VoIP adapter. They include a Windows program to upgrade the firmware, which is of no use to those of us who don't use Windows. Fortunately, it's very easy to upgrade the firmware via tftp, http or https.

- Note: If you use the 'http method-B', you don't have to download anyting (you an use our site). Before continuing: We assume you have a DHCP server on your network so the Sipura can obtain an IP address.

• Enter your NodePhone number in the UserID field (remove the x's and replace with your actual number. It should be 10 digits long if entered correctly, that is, include the area code). • Enter your NodePhone password in the Password field.

Point your browser to the TA's IP address so you can re-configure it using the new firmware. If yes, will it save the congi or I have to reconfig? The config will be saved, however if you have problems it's generally a good idea to do a factory reset and reinput settings again. You're thinking, what on earth is this guy digging up a 5 year old thread for? I'm trying to get hold of a copy of the SPA3000 3.1.18 firmware. Yes, my SPA3000 is still alive and kicking.

• Set Ring2 Cadence to: 60(.3/.2,1/.2.3/4). • At the bottom of this page, under Miscellaneous, set the time zone to your local time zone. • Set the FXS Port Impedance to 220+820 115nF. • Set the FXS Port Input and Output Gain to -3. • Set Caller ID Method to Bellcore(N.Amer,China). • Press Submit All Changes at the bottom of the page. Tip/Ring RMS voltage lower than the threshold set in - PSTN line is ringing - PSTN line is being used by the SPA to serve another VoIP caller If the PSTN line is not available, the PSTN gateway function will be rejected; any VoIP caller requesting PSTN gateway functions will be turned down with a “Service Not Available” response. Last night I upgraded the firmware from.10 to.18 over wireless and without doing a reset. All went well and I can make all outgoing calls OK.

Also – is there a way to upgrade the firmware through Linux?

2 SPA's for the price of 1 TDM card with PSTN fail over. The SPA 3000 is a fantastic little unit.

Phone is running firmware release 5.1.15 or better. You can find the firmware version your phone is currently running by using the 'Menu' button (looks like a dog-eared piece of paper) on your phone and navigating to 'Product Info' -> 'Software Version'. If you are running a version prior to 5.1.15, please upgrade your phone's software before proceeding (refer to your phone's documentation). Step 1: Gather information for each user. Each user has a set of credentials which will be needed to configure each phone. For each phone that you are configuring, obtain the following: • 'SIP Address' (Address of Record) • 'SIP Password' • 'Auth Username' • 'Username' • 'Domain' • 'Outbound Proxy' You can find this information in the user detail pages under the 'Users' tab in the 'Phone Configuration' section.

You could try the Sipura recovery. Depending on the mode of failure, you may also end up with a brick.

On your phone, enter * * * *, you'll hear a voice saying 'Sipura configuration menu'. On your phone, enter 1 1 0 #, you'll hear a voice telling you what the TA's IP address is.

Http-b method - Using Jtech's server. You don't need to download anything. Fire up a browser and enter the following URL: httpd://a.b.c.d/upgrade?httpd//www.jtech.net/ip_phone/Sipura/filename.bin - Where 'a.b.c.d' is the IP address of your TA and 'filename' is one of the '.bin' files listed below. If successful, you'll see a 'wait' screen and the lightson your TA will be flashing. After upgrading.

This morning I called my home PSTN from work. The call sounds clearer from my end and my wife reports no echo. While she's often not the most objective tester, she sure knows what SPA3000 echo on incoming PSTN sounds like. I'm really surprised to find this firmware has become available.

This is supposedly better than 3.1.20 which reduced the infamous echo problem, but accidentally introduced a DTMF bug. Unfortunately all the links that I found on the net now redirect to the Cisco Home Products page. Does anyone have a copy of 3.1.18 which they can email to me, or point me to a link where I can download it from?

It's assumed that both the TA and you're Windows box are on the same network.' Go to the folder where you extracted the files and double click on the.exe file. - You'll be required to input the IP address of the TA. - Just follow the prompts. Http-a method - your own httpd server. You'll need the.bin file(s).

Adding the SPA3000 is just to inject some extra options into the call handling. Ta Liam As a matter of interest, How do you get the SPA3000 to redirect calls to Asterisk? Can this be done simply! 'Simply' is in the eye of the beholder And bear in mind that mine never worked nicely, and now I think that this is because I had a bad SPA3000. My vendor though is going to swap it, so that's OK and I will try again. I had it all working (ringing through and so on) but call quality was unusable. I am hoping it will just spring into life when I get a working one.

Hello, I own a Sipura SPA 3000 with Firmward version 2.0.13(GWg) I know it's an EOL'ed model but notice echo problems with my wireless handset (some Uniden DECT with an answering machine) and see some references to bug fixes relating to echo in the SPA 3000. Probably since it's an EOL'ed model (and sipura was swallowed twice at least – by Linksys then Cisco), I can't find the firmware file anywhere.

I always meant to get around to buying an ILS but now it seems I don't need to. I have always shied away from the ATA type of solutions to use for business purposes. Well up until I installed the new firmware release I have had mixed results with this unit and have been disappointed with the PSTN quality of calls through the unit. Does this match the performance of a TDM card yet? With the new firmware it will for sure, as I use both and would now prefer the SPA to the TDM.

Factory Resetting the Sipura SPA-3000 You can reset your SPA-3000 to factory default values by doing the following: • Unplug the SPA-3000 Ethernet cable. • Use your telephone (connected to the SPA-3000) to access the voice menu (press * * * * on your telephone) • Then press 73738# on your telephone to reset the SPA-3000. Please note that resetting your SPA-3000 will erase all the configuration settings.

• Set Second Dial Tone to: 420@-19,520@-19;10(*/0/1+2). • Set Outside Dial Tone to: 420@-16;10(*/0/1). • Set Prompt Tone to: 520@-19,620@-19;10(*/0/1+2).

See Figure 5 for more information. • Press 'Submit All Changes' at the bottom. • You will now be prompted for a password before continuing. Enter the username 'user' with the password also being 'user' (as configured in step 2.1). • Click on 'Admin Login' in the top right of your screen. Enter the username 'admin' with the password also being 'admin' (as configured in Step 2.1). Figure 5: Setting an administrator password and the primary NTP server.

An IP address is in the format nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn. A typical IP address is something like 192.168.1.105 or 10.10.1.105 for example.

- Write this down! Installation Methods Windows Method You'll need the.zip file for the version you are installing. Using winzip or some other extraction software, extract both files in the archive to a folder. - It's a good idea nothing else is in that folder.

• After the plug is connected to the power adapter, connect the SPA3000. For instructions, complete the next steps. Connecting the SPA3000 • Connect the phone cable to the wall jack with ADSL service, and then connect the other end to the LINE port of the gateway. Then, connect the Ethernet cable from the SPA3000 to one of the Ethernet ports ( 1, 2, 3 or 4 ) of the Linksys gateway. • Connect the phone cable to the wall jack with ADSL service, then connect the other end to the line port of the ADSL line filter.

Thanks for that. I actually found 3.1.10 and 3.1.20 and a version or two more in the support forums on the Cisco site, attached to messages. I just finished packing up the SPA3000 actually: I am going to send it back to the vendor and exchange it. After I noticed that you could not talk to it via **** or reset it to factory defaults I sort of lost confidence that it was actually working properly at all:-) I am going to use it to connect an eircom line to my Asterisk server and have Asterisk handle the incoming PSTN calls. I use Blueface (via IAX), and voipgain and intervoip (outgoing only, via SIP) for calls. Asterisk handles all trunking and will continue to do so when I get a working SPA3000.

• Ensure Use Pref Codec Only is set to No. • Scroll down to Dial Plan, still on the Line 1 page.

Just as a small example I setup a unit overseas hanging off my Poundkey/FreePBX unit here and gave 8 people overseas access to call me or any landline in Australia and overseas if required, each person had their own pin number. This unit is incorporated in my new project of Astlinux as I could not install a TDM card for PSTN interface. I have become increasing disllusioned with the TDM cards due to a lack of consistent perfoemance from client to client.

Linksys Sipura Spa 3000

Introduction This article is one in a series to assist in the setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Cisco Small Business products (formerly Linksys Business Series). Refer to for more information on document conventions. How do you initially set up an SPA3000? In setting up the SPA3000, make sure you have a one touch tone analog phone, your NodePhone account details, and access to a standard phone port. You should also have these package contents: • Phone Adapter Unit • Ethernet Cable Standard Phone Cable • A 5 Volt Power Adapter Note: This guide has been prepared with firmware 2.0.13, the current supported firmware release for NodePhone.

Put the.bin file(s) in a directory on your httpd server. - For discussion, let's say we put our files in the 'Sipura' directory. Fire up a browser and enter the following URL: httpd://a.b.c.d/upgrade?httpd://myserver.com/ip_phone/Sipura/filename.bin - Where 'a.b.c.d' is the IP address of your TA. If successful, you'll see a 'wait' screen and the lights on your TA will be flashing.

Does it require factory reset? Alex, I did a factory reset first, then loaded the new firmware, powered it down, then powered it up again and setup. I had some issues not being able to call out via the PSTN on a TB and a test Astlinux setup I am trying out at the moment no matter what I tried it would not work, once I reflashed the new firmware and put in the same setting as before all worked well with the first go. I have since upgraded the firmware on a standalone unit which was a real thorn in my head for a few years and no echo not a bit did not have to tweak anything.

Otherwise, you will need to follow the following steps to configure your Sipura SPA-3000: Step 1 • Make sure your Sipura is attached to your router, and that you have a pen and paper handy. • Lift the phone handset and press the * key 4 times (that is: * * * *). • Once you hear the voice saying 'Sipura Configuration', press the following key combination: 1 1 0 # • You will hear the voice read out the Sipura SPA-3000's current IP address.

Step 2 • Open your preferred web browser - for example, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox. • Enter the IP Address of your Sipura into the address bar of your web browser. • Click Admin Login, and then Advanced. See Figure 4 for details. Figure 4: Advanced admin login options on the SPA-3000.

Thank you for your time:) Matthew. Hi Matthew, Great questions. The SPA3000 is EoL so I guess that's why it's hard to find. I've requested that it be made available from Cisco.com I've attached the last release for you. We've some easy links on the community to help locate documents and firmware: Right at the bottom is a link to firmware and tools: This doc links to the Cisco Support Center [login required] There is also a link to anonymous downloads for Linksys products that moved to Cisco. Here's the direct link: Regards, Patrick.

Sipura

I spent many hours here at WP, on the live chat to Sipura, and then on the phone to Sipura trying to get a fix for this problem. I continually asked Sipura if and when a new firmware would become available and was continually told is was very unlikely. I guess enough of us asked.

• Under International Control set the FXO Port Impedance to 220+820 120nF. • Set the SPA to PSTN Gain to 0. • Set the PSTN to SPA Gain to 3. • Press Submit All Changes at the bottom of the page. See Figure 9 for details. Figure 9: PSTN Line Tab Changes. At this point your NodePhone service should be authenticated and working.

Could you elaborate as to what issues you are having? Cheers Cleve.

You should be able to make phone calls, and in the event of a network failure your Sipura SPA-3000 should failover to the standard phone line. If you are having trouble setting up the Sipura or would like to clarify some of the steps, please. Appendix: The Sipura Dialplan Explained The most confusing part of configuring a Sipura SPA-3000 is setting the correct dial plan. Below we've taken the standard ('Lifeline') NodePhone dial plan and dissected it into its individual components, explaining what each part does along the way.

4play 6.0 serial numbers. When I change PSTN Dial Plan 1 to (xx.) then outbound calls work, but inbound calls dont (The SPA Answers and gives me a dialtone instead!) 4.2.5. Determining the Availability of the PSTN line SPA determines that the PSTN line is not available if the one of the following conditions is true: - PSTN line is not connected (loop current is 0 or Tip/Ring RMS voltage is below 1V) - PSTN line is being used by another extension.

All of the above TA's (Telephone Adapters) for the SIP protocol work GREAT but unfortunately are out of production. - But there are still plenty around on E-Bay and elsewhere selling very CHEAP. The problem with Firmware for these things started when Sipura sold out to Cisco. - Cisco keeps all Firmware close to the heart and it's darn near impossible to find it on any of Cisco's sites. Since I've got about a dozen of these things, I've bought the bullet and built up a small collection of firmware and will provide you with instructions on how to upgrade your Sipura TA. Let's get started: - First take a quick read-through of the different methods you can use then download the version you want for the upgrade method you plan to use (see the bottom of the page).
