I'll begin by saying that since the time of this thread (Sept of 2006!), I actually bought EZ Drummer, and have almost all the EZX expansions. I have also bought Superior Drummer 2.0, which is basically EZ Drummer on steroids. So far, I love them both, and *highly* recommend them. That says a LOT about how I feel, and how my questions were answered in this thread and at the Toontrack forums.

The enabling/disabling of the NIC, makes it seem like there is or isn't a NIC, thus making it part or not part of the configuration summing up the machine ID. If you never disable your NIC, you have no 'worries'. If you do and need to be able to run EZ Drummer with both NIC enabled and disabled, you simply generate two separate machine IDs and Authorize both. So, it has nothing to do with your online status.
